Itinerary:
|
- Pickup is between 10am and 11am at your Flagstaff Location
- Enjoy the scenic 35 minute drive past the San Francisco Mountains and into Sunset Crater National Monument Park
- Do a short walk into a lava field and enjoy an interpretive talk by your guide who will explain the area's geology
- Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Ponderosa Pine Forest at the base of Sunset Crater
- After lunch, we will take a short walk to a prime spot for viewing the crater
- Descend into the desert to Wupatki National Monument, an impressively in-tact city of Indian ruins. Walk through the ruins and learn amazing facts about the tribes that live there. Experience a blow hole which on days with low pressure will be releasing hot air from the ground
- Relax and enjoy a beautiful drive back toward Flagstaff - sometimes witnessing herds of antelope, deer or elk on the way
- End the day with a delicious steak, chicken, or vegetarian pasta dinner at an old cowboy ranch restaurant that has received rave reviews!
- We then will return you to your appropriate destination after dinner with memories that will last a lifetime
